Anna Valley provides stunning AV backdrop for world premiere of new James Bond film
At the spectacular world premiere of the new James Bond film Spectre at the Royal Albert Hall, red carpet interviews and film clips were shown on a big screen to entertain the vast crowd while an avenue of 14 smaller screens beside the red carpet displayed synchronised images and messages.
This perfect backdrop was created by Limited Edition Events, the production company responsible for putting together many of the technical aspects of the most spectacular night, and used Anna Valley’s high end ‘state of the art’ AV equipment.
The Royal Gala screening, which was attended by HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge alongside Prince Harry, Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and many A list celebrities, needed a powerful outside display for the launch of the highly anticipated film of the year.
The central main screen outside behind the Bond cars measuring 9m x 5m was created with 4.8mm high resolution outdoor LED panels, while14 LED screens of MC7, each measuring 1.2m x 3.6m, were along the red carpet with media servers and playback handled by a Catalyst media unit to synchronise them.

Load-in times were tight, coupled with a site which had to remain open to the public until event day and, to further complicate matters, many towers were constructed on the rear steps of the Royal Albert Hall which meant no plant access.”
We conducted a tower test build prior to the event to ensure rigging, lighting, scenic and video could all fit into a 1m x 1m footprint. This proved vital to ensure a quick load-in and how to overcome the lack of plant access.
Working with Pod’s team from Blueman Associates, we created a series of towers with the screens mounted at varying heights. With film premieres it’s all about ‘the money shot’ therefore we positioned the towers precisely to create an exploded video effect for the photographers.
