Anna Valley & Limited Edition Event Design create epic visual display for worldwide premiere of “Dunkirk”
Leading AV company, Anna Valley, was the supplier behind the 360-degree video display at the worldwide premiere of Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” in Leicester Square Gardens on July 13, 2017. The event was produced by film premier production specialists, Limited Edition Event Design on behalf of Warner Brothers and was attended by Prince Harry and members of the ensemble cast including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Harry Styles.
The producers wanted to convey the epic proportions of Nolan’s stunning cinematography and bring the movie to life for the thousands of excited fans attending the event. To achieve this, Anna Valley was tasked with creating a 360-degree viewing experience using eight high-resolution outdoor LED displays. The team chose Anna Valley’s 4mm outdoor display LED which provides both the resolution needed for audiences standing close to the screens and the brightness needed for video display at outdoor events. Each 4.5x2m screen consisted of 36xOD4 LED panels, erected two meters from the ground on a six-meter high Layher tower using a customised mounting system. The towers were clad in solid black panels to offset the dramatic visuals which were played back via a Hippo media server.
“With outdoor events, you’re not only at the mercy of the weather, but the quality of your video can be hampered by ambient light if you don’t choose the right display technology,” said Anna Valley Director, Nick Hart. “This premiere was based around an exceptional video display and we’re proud to have helped Limited Edition Event deliver a fantastic event for Warner Brothers.”
